Making it home - a glimpse II

The Pressman turned my pinup girl bathroom into a manly sailor bathroom.
But, I have to say I'm quite pleased with the results.

I think this plant mister we found at a flea market makes a great soap dispenser.
The Pressman made this monkey's fist door stop from a rope used on the ship he sails on, the Alma. Quite talented, this fella. :)

A few more...

Just a few more photos from the Alamo Square Flea. I'm sure glad I brought that fur coat to sell, it kept me warm all day and now I can't part with it.

The Darling Era Debut

Thanks to everyone who came by the Alamo Square Flea Market today. It was The Darling Era's flea market debut and I had a great time and met so many wonderful people.
I'll be posting more items to the Etsy shop shortly, stay tuned!

Making it home - type drawer hall rack

The Pressman came up with the great idea of creating this hallway rack with an old letterpress type drawer and some hooks we've been collecting from various fleas.
I think it looks great with the new blue and white paint job and the sailor chest that keeps our scooter and bike helmets ready to go.

Preparation mode

I'm in full preparation mode for the Alamo Square Flea Market next Saturday. Steaming, hanging, mending and tagging. I'm in purge mode so many items I didn't think I'd part with are making their way into the pile.
I love the letterpress tags the Pressman made for me. I'm pricing each item with a tag secured with bakers twine.
If you're in San Francisco, be sure to stop by my booth. There might even be treats in it for you. xo

Pale Inspiration

I am shocked to say that I have lived in my apartment for over 5 and a half years. This is shocking to me because since I moved out of my parents' house over 10 years ago (yikes!) I have moved just about every year or two, even when I owned a home.
With my roommate moving out and the Pressman moving in, it's time for some redecorating and for truly making it feel like home.
Painting is an obvious first step, my landlord painted it before I moved in but it is definitely due for some freshening up.
I'm inspired by the use of pale colors in the rooms above and also just noticed that most of the items in the last 3 photos look exactly like items in our piles of stuff lying around the apartment waiting for their placement.
This weekend we will put on our overalls and get to work. I'll be sure the share the progress. xo
