Got a little carried away...

My Sunday project started out simple enough - infusing vodka with Buddha's hand. But, the process became quite addicting. I was soon rummaging through the kitchen in search of different essences to use. I ended up making two bottles of Buddha's hand, one fresh mint, one with peppers (for Bloody Marys) and a concoction of coffee beans, chicory, star anise and cinnamon.
Now, just wait and see how they turn out.

In monochrome

So this is basically how my Louise Brooks outfit turned out.
Unfortunately, I didn't get the best of photos.
I wore this 1920's wool swimsuit and silver mary janes and painted myself to look like I was in black and white, but most people thought I was just dead or a zombie.
The Pressman was a director, but everyone thought he was Max Fisher from Rushmore.
Oh, and this sweater made a great addition to the outfit later on.

Scary Apples!

Just made these scary candy apples! Found here. I've been obsessed with candy/caramel making lately. At least I used a candy thermometer this time. :)

Spoiling My Dinner

I just picked up my bag from the tell tale preserve company
It comes in this burlap sack with a letterpress tag attached
It is full of delicious gourmet treats
like salted caramel nib pound cake and fig-chocolate sangria jam
I really make too much of this kind of thing myself at home to indulge in this each month. But I'm feeling a bit indulgent as I prepare to leave my twenties behind and I thought it was a nice treat just this once.

An Early Celebration

How is it possible that, until last weekend, I never knew what an amazing show the Flaming Lips put on?
Thanks Meghan for the amazing early birthday gift. What a perfect night.

It seems to be coming together

My costume has been coming together quite nicely, piece by piece, over the last couple of weeks.

I found the shoes and vintage wool swimsuit on etsy and was so excited to find this rhinestone headpiece and matching purse at the Alameda Flea this past Sunday.

I think I have just about everything I need to transform myself into a silent film starlet for the evening.

Now, to figure out the makeup...
